Lead AV Technician
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma is required
- College Degree or some college preferred, but not required
- Must have at least 3 to 5 years experience in the A/V industry
- Individual must possess the following skills:
- in-depth knowledge of installation, operation, scheduling and support of desktop and conference room VTC systems in a secure government or military environment including ISDN, Inverse Multiplexers, CODECs and H.320/H.323 protocols.
- Working knowledge of A/V concepts such as acoustics, lighting, aspect ratios, font size versus distance, scan rates, video standards and transmission systems.
- Working knowledge of TEMPEST standards and IA concerns for multi-classification multimedia systems.
- Must possess an extremely meticulous and organized working style and have an ability to work as part of a team
- Be a team leader and possess excellent leadership qualities and should be able to lead a field team to a job completion
- Strong verbal and written communication skills experience is important, responsibilities will include extensive team and client contact
- Understanding electrical current (a plus)
- Tandberg systems installation (a plus)
- AMX system installation (programming a plus)
- Lutron lighting and shade system installation (programming a plus)
- Knowledge of computer network configuration (a plus)
- KIV Secure Systems (a plus)
- CEDIA Certification (a plus)
- CTS Certification (a plus)
- CTS-D Certification (a plus)
- CTS-I Certification (a plus)
PRIORITIES
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Technical research, coordination and participation in design, installation, configuration and integration of multi-media systems
- Upload and modify AMX control programs to control processors
- Write and fully tweak audio programs for at least two of the following audio systems; Clear One, Gentner, and Biamp
- Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.
- Pulling and terminating low voltage cable of all types
- Full working knowledge of commercial construction methods such as ceiling deck construction, wall framing and structural engineering
- Experience using hand tools of the A/V, electronic, and construction trades
- Ability to hang projectors, screens, projection screens, etc.
- Metal fabrication and carpentry experience
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Load and unload trucks
- Climb ladders / lifts up to heights of 35 feet
- Interaction with clients, general contractors, electrical contractors, etc
- Daily field reporting to project manager
- May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
