Technology Overview of Screen/Cube Resolution Many organizations and Government agencies have the need to employ the use of display cube technology, where large DLP cubes or other types of displays are arranged in a configuration to support multiple users who have a need to view multiple images from multiple sources. For each position in a room with a “Display Wall”, there is a “critical viewing distance” where the combination of display resolution, display size, and image size is optimal. A close up position will cause the viewer to see lines and artifacts in the image, whereas a position farther away will cause the loss of image detail. Calculating this distance precisely is difficult because there are many factors related to the display, room lighting, and the individual’s eyes that impact the calculation.
